London on Lockdown - 1 Month In

1 month of isolation and how are you?

I’ve tried to write this post a couple of times now and it’s really difficult considering the real circumstances we are in.

It’s officially been 1 month of government restrictions and it seems like actually the majority of people are adapting. I mean I still see elderly and pregnant people in fact at the supermarket but I can’t judge as we don’t know their situation.

I think throughout this we do need to remember that - we do not know each individuals situation! I hope that everyone is trying their upmost best to follow all guidelines where possible.

At this point many of us are well versed in working from home and actually a large proportion of us are now on furlough - including myself!

Furlough however has given me a chance to take a step back, look at what I want to achieve/do and improve on myself.

During this time so far I have:

  • Completed a free online property course with PropertyHub.

  • Gone for a run everyday!?

  • Done workouts in the garden.

  • Waved and had a chat with my Nan through her window everyday.

  • Hung our with my family more.

  • In the mist of creating some okaykayleigh online resources for you guys.

  • Illustrations.

  • Research into some residential design projects.

  • Sat in the sun.

Now whether you’ve done a lot or just chilled with your new found free time it really doesn’t matter. The fact that you are respecting the measures that have been put in place is enough.

Sadly we do have to remember why most of us have this opportunity to improve on ourselves and spend time with our households - to protect the vulnerable.

I know of family and friends who have lost people to this virus and will not be able to hug their mums when going through a tough time… So remember to take a moment before accusing people, take a moment to offer help to a neighbour who is vulnerable and keep talking whilst we try to break the chain of the virus.

Let me know in the comments below how you’re spending your time during isolation and once again ‘Stay home, stay safe’ everyone!
